Solidarity with the communist youth of turkey (TKG)
The Communist Youth Movement of the Netherlands (CJB) condemns the attacks and persecution of comrades belonging to our sister organization, the Communist Youth of Turkey (TKG). On the 13th of March, members of the TKG were, whilst spreading pamphlets at the University of Istanbul, attaked by a group of fascists. Several comrades were severely wounded during this attack. One of the fascists falsely claimed the communists started the attack, and 22 comrades were put into custody by the police.

It is clear that the Turkish bourgeoisie, headed by Erdogan, has failed to succeed in taking away mass support for the TKP (Turkish Communist Party) and the TKG by increasing repression and arrests. The Turkish bourgeoisie, in their attempt to increase their role in the region around Turkey, increases the measures taken against the people in Turkey, against the labour movement with the communists as vanguard. This includes increasing anticommunism and support for fascist groups.
Police actions on the Boğaziçi university, diverse amounts of students were arrested because they demonstrated against the attack on Afrin. Erdogan spoke of “communist traitors”.

The CJB declares full solidarity with the TKG, en exclaims, together with the TKG: stop the plans of NATO, stop imperialism, against the Turkish and Dutch bourgeoisie and their running dogs, the fascists, the people’s exploiters. Together we wage an international struggle for socialism!
